Emma's Voice

Well, my dear blog readers...

It has taken me quite a while
to officially introduce myself to you.




I have to admit that I've read the blog so far,
and I was a little intimidated by Charlotte's "voice".
She is just so funny, even if she is a little too
dramatic at times (just my opinion).
I mean, just look at her... need I say more?



I wasn't sure how to start.
So, I will just work on some backdated blog
posts, starting with the first week and
working my way to present day. I may be
5 months old by the time I get it all finished,
I have A LOT to catch you all up on!

PJ Malfunction

Last week Mommy came in to check on me in the middle
of the night. She just felt something wasn't right and couldn't
shake the feeling that she should get out of bed and come see me.

She was pretty shocked and even laughed to find
me in that state! I'm STILL laughing!

Even funnier was the next morning... not only was I nudey
again, but I had made a BIG mess! The kind that requires
an emergency bath, striping the bed and cloroxing the crib!

Who, me?!

To say that it was a battle of wills the next few
days for me to keep myself clothed while left
alone in my crib would be a massive understatement.

I really was doing better at keeping myself
decent at night and naps, but Mommy needed
some insurance! She hadn't slept well since
"the incident" and she was getting pretty cranky.

Apparently I'm not the only toddler exhibitionist
out there and a friend of hers recommended
these fancy new pjs. Mommy ordered them ASAP.
I will model them for you via a twirl!

It reminds me a little of a wetsuit.
Snug with a zipper up the back!

I did spend some time trying to figure out
how to get them off. I still tried taking my
diaper off, but I just couldn't get a good
grasp on those tabs through the pjs.

I guess my pj malfunction days are over.

Don't worry. I will think of something
just as stressful to get into this week!

I take full responsibility for keeping Mommy on her toes.
It's my job and I take it very seriously!

Meeting baby cousin Ella

2011 was the year of baby girl cousins.
First to be born was Ella!
Of course we had to go meet her since we live so close!

I had a great time playing with my older cousins,
its safe to say that I'm obsessed with them!
I'm pretty sure its a mutual obsession.

Let's just say that I hit the jackpot NOT
being born during the same year as any
other cousins. At least at this age, it is a plus.

There's always someone around to play with me,
do my hair, show me things and push me on a swing.

Its just my humble opinion that being born the
"baby" of an older grouping of kids sure beats being
the "oldest" of a younger grouping of kids.

Case and point.
Look at how Emma spent her weekend.

Of course she's upset. She's been striped down, propped
up and forced to sit next to a tanner, skinnier, younger chick.

And of course, we all know Emma is the sweetest
baby alive. But poor Ella certainly doesn't
know that the big white monster behind her
isn't about to eat her for a small snack!

Of course with adorable names like Emma & Ella,
they are destined to be the best of friends.
After all, they do say opposites attract!

Emma is TWO Months Old!

Clearly I'm not as impressed as my Mom about
these monthly photo sessions.

Maybe if I slide down real low,
I won't make it in the shot.

I really don't prefer having flowers or headbands on my head.

Parenting Tips for Mom

Some mornings I like to sit at the table
with a fresh cup of milk and catch up on
today's latest headlines in my Parenting magazine.

Since Mommy never reads it, I have started to scan the
pages for the latest and greatest in parenting advice.

We're the perfect team, because, boy does she
need the extra tips, and we all know how I like
to be a knowledgeable expert about, well, everything!

I take this "job" very seriously and read all the fine print.

You'd be surprised at the facts I've learned...

or the coupons I've found!

Sometimes I like to review the material

before I present my report to Mommy.

She is one lucky lady!

Play Date with Dirt

It cooled down enough this week to have an outdoor

play date! All I will say is that there was lots of dirt, water

and some older boys to show me the way to mud-caked happiness!

Two things I know to do differently next time...

1. NEVER wear a white dress and bloomers to an outdoor playdate.

2. Don't waste your time on a pedi before an outdoor playdate.

I may have been playing with boys, but I had to keep

my purse & "bippy" (aka sippy) with me at all times.

Even when a stray plastic cup was found in the nearby woods...

purse & bippy.

Even when I made mud puddles in the dirt

and drug my dress through it all...

purse & bippy.

Or when I played in the cup of water since my

Mom wouldn't let me get in the pond...

purse & bippy.

Unless, of course, you find a stick.

Then you keep a stranger's dirty cup and the stick

and ditch the purse & bippy.

I'm starting to think I should rent an older brother.

Just for a few days, so he can show me all the cool stuff...

Mommy's great, but we always stay so clean and safe

when its just us girls. Daddy helps liven things up,

but Mommy keeps him clean too.
